But mother, teacher, and even the Santa Claus at Goldblatt’s Department Store tell him the same thing: “You’ll shoot your eye out.” Follow Ralphie’s quest for the gift of his dreams, all while enjoying the favorite elements from the movie: Scut Farkas, the school bully, the Bumpus hounds and the turkey, Flick’s tongue on the lamppost, and the Old Man’s leg lamp.

    The Melrose-Rugby Neighborhood Forum, Inc., Loudon-Melrose Neighborhood Organization, Inc., and Hurt Park Neighborhood Alliance, Inc. - in collaboration with Total Action for Progress (TAP) - cordially invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Bridging the Community Gap event on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 6:00pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge. This annual event helps to spread peace and joy through song when all come together as one community on this special night!! Participants are also asked to bring non-perishable items that will be distributed to those families in need residing in these neighborhoods. Roanoke Tax Deadlines

  1. Dog License Expiration

    December 31, 2017, All Day @ Treasurer's Office

    Dog licenses (tags) expire on a calendar year basis. A one-year license will expire on December 31 of the year purchased. A three-year license (tag) will expire on December 31 of the year imprinted on the tag.
