Metamorphosis Teen Summer Reading Program
What is Metamorphosis?
Simply put, Metamorphosis is change. When discussing nature, metamorphosis is the change
in life form such as the change a caterpillar makes when transforming into a butterfly.
Metamorphosis can be a physical change, which is easily seen, or it can be an internal change.
Our Summer Reading Program focuses on many types of change for teens. Programs like Yoga
will focus on becoming fit to change your physical appearance. Other programs such as
Trendy Tuesdays will make over items to transform them into new fashion accessories.
We will be turning old books into adorable purses and guitar picks into rockin’ necklaces.
Workshops from writers, illustrators, and artists will help teens learn or improve upon artistic abilities.
Additionally, the Roanoke Public Libraries has Movie Manias, Gaming, and many books to
enjoy all summer! Booklists will be available with Metamorphosis themes such as changing your
environment, altering fashion items, changing times, and changing yourself.
