Roanoke Police Department

Accident Reports

Welcome to the Roanoke Police Department Report Verification Center. As a public service, the Police Department makes certain reports available for verification to victims, parties involved in motor vehicle accidents, victims' attorney(s) or their insurance company. There is a $10.00 fee for report verification as set forth in the City of Roanoke Fee Compendium established by the Roanoke City Council. No payment will be made to the Police Department or the City of Roanoke in advance. You will be billed.

With the exception of a Motor Vehicle Accident Report, verifications are NOT the actual completed report, but simply proof the complainant/victim made a report and a listing of any stolen articles.

Report verification may be requested by the following methods:
  • Complete as much of the “Request for Police Information” form as possible. A copy of the form may be picked up at the Police Department or downloaded by clicking the above highlighted form name. In the case of a request for an accident report, the information needed to complete this form may be found on the “Accident Exchange Information Form” given the drivers by the investigation officers. You can view or print the Accident Exchange of Information form to find the locations of the information.
Mail or drop the completed form, along with a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE), to:
