Planning Building & Development

Planning Building & Development consists of two divisions:

The Planning Division develops comprehensive and small-area plans and administers land development codes.

The Building Inspections Division ensures construction in Roanoke complies with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

Safe Routes to School Survey

Effective July 1, 2008 there will be a fee charged for Land Disturbance Permits. The fee will be based on the amount of acreage disturbed calculated as $100 + $50 per acre.
