How can my property be listed on the lead-safe housing registry?

A residence or a child-occupied facility, built before 1978, may be listed on the Lead-Safe Housing Registry by providing us with information about any lead paint inspection, risk assessment or hazard control activity that has been performed at the property. The older the property, the more likely it is that lead paint will be found. Properties built after 1960 are less likely to contain lead paint than those built before 1960. Nearly all properties built before 1940 contain some lead paint. The only way to know for sure is to have your home tested by a state certified professional. Lead poisoning of a child is a serious health threat and the effects will last a lifetime, so take the time to ensure your home is lead-safe for your family or tenants.
